"Active Learners, Active Citizens" Exploring Pedagogical Approaches to Paricipatory Service Learning.
The Service-Learning Partnership, a Project YES initiative, invites k-12 teachers, school administrators, and representatives from community-based agencies to participate in an interactive professional development workshop on Thursday 1/18 and Friday, 1/19 from 9am-4pm at the YMCA of Boulder Valley in Lafayette.
In addition to exploring arts-based and civic-focused models for implementing participatory service learning in their classrooms and in the community, participants will have an opportunity to both design standards-based lesson plans and develop partnerships with non-profit representatives. Facilitated by Dr. Seana Lowe, the workshop is sponsored by the University of Colorado in cooperation with the Boulder Valley School District.
