Art in the Community programs invite young people to create large-scale pieces of public art about social issues impacting their lives through workshops at neighborhood schools and community-based agencies. With the support of a professional artist, participating youth gain skills in collaboration, communication, conflict resolution, critical thinking, event planning, and in a particular artistic medium. Recent workshops have culminated in the creation of Lafayette Garden's Peace Park, an anti-violence poster campaign, and a digital art collection on tolerance. |

"I believe the Project YES workshop I took part in taught me skills that I continue to use years after my workshop. I learned the importance of bonding with people of all backgrounds so I could expand my mind. Most importantly, Project YES strengthened my self-confidence... I discovered I had drive, insight, and intelligence to be a great leader and role model. I made some wonderful friends, and together, we learned the power committed people have in making a difference in our community and in the world."
