The success of Project YES' programs is dependent upon the commitment of our program instructors. Our instructors, who include professional artists, educators, community members, and university students, are dedicated to youth leadership and the promotion of youth voice. In order to reach a diverse population of youth, we seek out instructors who are themselves diverse (in terms of ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, linguistic background, and general life experiences).
Project YES is currently expanding its after school programs, which meet daily from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Project YES Youth Center. (For a list of current classes, please see our Youth Center program page.) Similarly, the Lafayette Service-Learning Partnership hosts a range of after-school service-learning classes at local schools.
Project YES also provides 12- to 15-week workshops through its Art in the Community program at local schools and community-based agencies. The participating students, who meet weekly, are co-led by a professional artist and a community activist. Recent workshops have culminated in the creation of a 63- by seven-foot Diversity mural at Centaurus High School and a digital photography gallery exhibit on tolerance.
If you are interested in either leading or assisting a program at Project YES, please complete the following Instructor/Assistant Application Form. You may either submit the form online, or mail it to:
