Project YES Board of Directors


    Lindsay Stickle, Board Co-Chair
    Lindsay first discovered Project YES through the El Pomar Foundation youth leadership program for high school students. Lindsay has extensive experience working with youth and is currently pursuing her degree in history with the intention of going on to receive a master's degree in education at the University of Colorado. Following her initial introduction to Project YES, Lindsay returned as an amazing volunteer, first as a program facilitator and most recently as a board member. Lindsay joined the board in 2005.

    Sara Ott, Board Co-Chair
    Sara graduated from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in International Business. She works as a banking officer with FirstBank in Louisville. Sara joined the board in 2004.

    Julie Birschbach,Treasurer
    Julie has been a resident of East Boulder County for the past 14 years. She will graduate with a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in spring of 2008. Her interest in youth education was ignited eleven years ago when her first child was born. She has two sons ages eleven and eight and has volunteered in their school classrooms for the past six years. Julie also has extensive IT experience, working in a variety of positions for the past 17 years. Julie joined the board in 2007.

    Michael Hutchinson, Secretary

    Martine Conway
    Martine holds a master's degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. She has great experience with adolescents through her past work at the Boulder Valley Mental Health Center. After years as a Project YES volunteer, Martine joined the board in 2003.

    Laurel Cadwallader
    Laurel Cadwallader first joined Project YES as an AmeriCops*VISTA member in 2002, working to coordinate the Lafayette Service-Learning Partnership, and she has been on the Board since early 2007. At present, she teaches English as a Second Language and social studies at Sunset Middle School in Longmont. Laurel holds a BA in Spanish from Middlebury College and a MA in bilingual and multicultural education from CU-Boulder.


    Ryan Mason
    Ryan Mason was born in Estes Park, CO. He attended Estes Park Elementary School before moving to Lafayette, CO. Ryan then attended Angevine Middle and Centaurus High in Lafayette before going to the University of Colorado at Denver for his bachelor's degree. Ryan has worked professionally in the financial services industry for all of his adult life. He started in banking as a teller and worked his way up to manager before moving to the commercial lending side of the bank. After graduating from college, Ryan began a new career as a Financial Advisor. He currently lives in Westminster, CO and manages an Edward Jones office in Broomfield, CO. Ryan enjoys spending time in the outdoors hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting. He is very active in the Superior Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club of Superior, and Toastmasters International.

    Jennifer Wagner
    Jennifer graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's Degree in Modern European Studies. She has worked in financial services since college and has been a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Lafayette since 2003. She has volunteered with youth service organizations since 1998. Jennifer is a member of the Lafayette Lions Club, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, and has been a member of the Project YES board since 2007.

    Jamie Martin
    Jamie Martin and her husband Dan own Coal Creek Barbers in Lafayette, CO. She has been on the Project YES board since October of 2007, and has a life long interest in Service Learning. In college Jamie worked for the CSU office of Community Service, and enjoyed working with student volunteers and coordinating Service Learning projects. Spurred by her love of Service Learning, she earned a BA in Social Work from Colorado State University. Jamie learned about Project YES while working part time for the YMCA, and is passionate about the mission of the organization.

    April Medearis
    April is currently a 10th grader at Centaurus High School and has been involved with Project YES since the 3rd grade through the Service Learning program. She first started coming to the youth center in the summer of 2006, and soon joined YAB, or the Youth Advisory Board. From there she was asked to sit in on a Board of Directors meeting, and was chosen to join the Board in November of 2007.

    Chris Guereca
    Chris is currently a 10th grader at Centaurus High School and started coming to Project YES two years ago. Shortly after, he was asked to sit in on a YAB meeting (Youth Advisory Board). He says that "I liked it, so I kept on going to the meetings. Curt McDermott, the former Program Manager, let me know that there was a position for youth on the Board of Directors, and if i wanted to sit in on a meeting. I said yes." Chris has been a board member since November of 2007.
